After New York City was hit by a major snowfall that closed all the streets, I painted White Street Snow . All the cars parked on the street were under a foot or more of snow. Great time to walk if you don’t mind a little cold.” I wanted to show the beauty of an everyday neighborhood and the silence of Manhattan after a huge snowfall. I have painted this scene more than once, and every time I look at one of the paintings I still have, I am at peace. My message is that you can f ind tranquility even in the middle of busy, bustling, noisy New York City.
