It concerns me that we might be slipping into a situation that will never improve. The elements of Diversity represent the walls we build as we isolate ourselves into groups of like-minded people instead of joining with others who think or look differently. The rich colors I used indicate how each group and culture has so much to offer.” My studio is my sanctuary, and my art is my healing process. After completing my pieces, I always feel exhausted but relieved. Once my emotions are expressed in my artwork, those emotions feel more manageable and eventually dissipate. For this piece, I felt relieved. The work expresses the chaos I was feeling in my life. After completion, the anxiety began to subside.
