[email protected] NEW, YORK USA “I was on vacation in Mexico (Tulum) with my partner and close friends, and in much need of rest and relaxation. At this time, I was in daily contact with my daughter, who had been going through years of great sadness and loss. It was important for me to stay close to her. And it was important for us to have our distance as well. One thing we would do is text and send photos to each other. “We both love the full moon, and, one night after walking on the beach, I sent her a photo of the full moon. She replied by sending me a photo of the same full moon as it appeared in a very cold New Jersey town. This was the inspiration for Tulum Moon . “I wanted to make something beautiful. I began with color—the rich blues and gold against a deep black. The fabrics and shapes delighted me. They were evocative of space, swimming in a vast ocean, lost and found, a guid- ing light, movement.” I was very satisf ied when this piece was f inished. I am proud of it. I am always happy when I see it.
