I wanted to create something that would help me come to terms with death and loss. In 2013, I had nine friends die (some expected, but most a shock) as well as my mother-in-law, fromAlzheimer’s. The following March, my dad died.” Gathering Grief is about pain and sadness. Creating this piece helped me come to terms with my own mortality. My hope is that people can relate to it and explore their own feelings, and not feel alone.
