Londir WWW.ARYANALONDIR.COM ARIZONA, USA “I created The One That Got Away as a reaction to the loss of my lover, who was also my best friend and hoped-for life partner.” Each piece I create is personal and is a response to either a personal issue or a sociopolitical issue/ concern. In the case of The One That Got Away, I felt some resolution. I may not have agreed with my partner’s decision, but I had to honor it. I also felt sadness, great sadness, at a deep heart level, knowing I would never see him again. I chose the color palette because it was distinctively vibrant to honor his life, as well as the upward movement of the individual motifs to ref lect his movement out of the physical realm into the spiritual.
