I made up three characters that I loved to use in my lessons: Mr. Ribooa (Mr. Square), Mr. Igool (Mr. Circle), and Mrs. Mshoolash (Mrs. Triangle). I had so much fun with Zenki Circle these three. They had very different personalities and were always getting into all sorts of mischief. After I’d made Square Zenki, I knew it was only a matter of time before Circle Zenki and Triangle Zenki would turn up on my doorstep. There will be times where it’s simpler, and more logical, to make your zenki from two different shapes. This chapter explores the Froggy Tree What You Need in Addition to Your Basic Kit • 10” × 8” orange felt • 5” × 5” aqua felt • White and black felt for eyes • Felt for mouth • Rice for weighting kind of zenkis you can design when the front and back shapes are no longer the same. Tree Froggy is the first example of this group of zenkis. Please put your hands together for him so we can get on with this . . . he’s a born performer and just soaks up applause.
