Everything that has existed for a long time tends to de- cay and corrupt and—no offense to those who seek eternal life—the only true rejuvenation is in rebirth, and not in anything technological, medical, or even magic. If we also insist on understanding the when, then the answer becomes much clearer: this happens when hu- man beings, collectively within either a small or large group, have ended up losing all connection with the laws—hidden, but natural—from the universe. The Loss of the Link & Its Rediscovery I am convinced that the various misfortunes that we have been experiencing for a few years (which tend to diversify and intensify) ultimately have a unique but ter- rible origin: the loss of connection with the universe. We can also name this universe God or Nature, but it doesn’t matter. The more one puts oneself on the fringes of this “great whole,” the more one necessarily under- goes a major degeneration, exactly in the same way as a fish out of water or a bird with broken wings. When we uproot (by its own will or because one bends to the will of others) an individual from his element, he withers and then dies. This is evident at the scale of a small organism (whether animal or human); it is less evident at the scale of a large organism (a society, a country), and it becomes really difficult to recognize at the scale of a very large organ- ism (the earth and all of its occupants). However, the human being very early in history (when precisely he still had a strong knowledge of his need for a link with the universe) developed an absolutely unique tool (and for this reason, moreover, unclassifi- able) to allow him not only to keep this link, but, even better, to understand and live it. This tool is, of course, astrology. Astrology is not a belief, much less a religion or a truly esoteric practice (it is not knowledge reserved for initi- ates, but knowledge accessible to all). It is a discipline of the mind, a study of the human psy- che, and, in that sense, a real psychology, but a psychol- ogy of what connects us individually to the rest of the world, a psychology of who we are within the universe.
